Why Camp Wonder?
Skin diseases cause discomfort, pain, disfigurement, disability, dependency or death. The physical and emotional damage caused by childhood skin diseases not only effect the child, but the whole family. For one week the children are able to avoid the staring, stigma and isolation often associated with skin disease. For one week, the children are able to feel "normal." Camp Wonder provides a one week respite during which time they can just be kids.
Camp Wonder Hosted By

Camp Information
Who Can Attend?
Camp Wonder is for children with serious and fatal skin disease aged 7-16 years old. Campers are selected without regard to sex, race, national origin, or religion. If you know someone who would benefit from attending Camp Wonder, please complete the Online Recommendation Form.
Medical Support At Camp Wonder
Doctors, nurses and medical/nursing students primarily from UCLA, UCSF, USC, Stanford and Kaiser volunteer to attend camp and provide daily care. Procedures are established if an emergency occurs. Campers must bring to camp all medications and bandages required for their own care.
What is Camp Wonder?
Camp offers a wide variety of activities. They include swimming, boating, arts and crafts, games, archery, fishing, ropes course, nature walks, sports & recreation, silly olympics, theater and more. Camp is a great place to bond with other children your age and have some wonderful experiences and fun.
What Does Camp Wonder Cost?
THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR CHILDREN ATTENDING CAMP. Because many families of children with severe skin disease are burdened with large medical expenses, children attend CSDF's camps without charge. To raise the funds for camp, CSDF depends on the generosity of supporters. See 15 Ways You Can Help.
